Sarah Lamb is a contemporary realist painter celebrated for her luminous still lifes and atmospheric landscapes. With classical skill and attention to transparency, depth, and texture, Lamb transforms everyday objects—food, flowers, textiles, and familiar domestic items—into compositions of striking drama and elegance. Her paintings invite viewers to rediscover the beauty of the ordinary, balancing precision of detail with painterly sensuality.

Lamb studied at Brenau Women’s College, earning her BS in Studio Art in 1993. She spent a semester abroad at the Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy, followed by formative study with Jacob Collins in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She then trained for two years at L’Ecole Albert Defois in the Loire Valley under classical realist Ted Seth Jacobs before returning to New York in 1997, where she continued her studies with Collins at the Water Street Atelier for six years. This rigorous classical training deeply informs her technical mastery and aesthetic sensibility.

Since the late 1990s, Lamb has presented solo exhibitions in major galleries across the United States, including Spanierman Gallery (New York), Meredith Long Gallery (Houston), and John Pence Gallery (San Francisco), with many of her shows selling out. Her work has been featured in American Artist, American Art Collector, and Southwest Art, where she has been recognized as one of America’s leading realist painters. British-born art critic John A. Parks has praised her “robustly sensual grasp of the world” and “joyful brush,” noting the freshness and vitality her paintings bring to everyday life.
