Malik Roberts is a Brooklyn-based painter and multidisciplinary artist whose work centers on cinematic figurative painting exploring the psychological interior of Black identity through narrative, light, and form. Of Guyanese and Trinidadian heritage, Roberts grew up between New York and Atlanta, experiences that continue to shape the cultural and emotional landscape of his work.

In his prismatic, fragmented paintings, Roberts breaks down familiar icons and figures into their most basic geometric forms before reconstructing them, layering charged imagery from art history and media onto the geometric structure of his subjects. His compositions, suspended in scenes of tension and reflection, address contemporary social issues including police brutality, exclusionary politics, and mental health within Black communities.

Roberts has presented solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, and London, with his work held in private and institutional collections, including the Vatican. His work has been covered by The Washington Post, Hyperallergic, and Artnet, and he has collaborated with brands including Nike, Adidas, and Hennessy through his interdisciplinary platform, The Maison Studio.
